Update on Nathan

Unless Nathan's situation deteriorates overnight, they will operate on Nathan's ankles and legs tomorrow.

They do not, however, propose to replace the stainless steel "scaffolding" (external stabilizers) protruding from both legs with rods hidden inside the legs. Some degree of infection in the legs makes it inadvisable to insert the rods, so Nathan will have that external "scaffolding" in place for the next five or six weeks. I think that is likely to be one of a host of disconcerting developments for Nathan over the next few weeks, so prayers for his emotional recovery will be in order once he is slowly awakened (after the proposed surgery on his face on Thursday).

Dear Greg and Hannah,
so glad to access your letters. Nathan's friend Fiona is our daughter . We have been praying for and thinking of Nathan and you-- many, many times a day. Our Prayer Circle at Holy Family Church in Portland is also actively praying for Nathan.
We are so glad that you are with him . Our hearts can only begin to share what yours is going through.
We will continue to prayer for Nathan and you --
Our Love Trish and Pat.

Dear Trish...

We are so grateful to those of you who are both praying and writing to tell us that you are upholding us.

It has been a special treat for Hannah and me to get acquainted with Fiona and the rest of Nathan's friends here in Salzburg. I wish, of course, that we were here to have Nathan show us around, but as it is we have seen more of Nathan's friends than we have of Austria, and it has been great, getting to know them.

Thanks again for praying, and for raising a daughter who goes out of her way to care for others.

Our warm regards to Pat...

Greg
