Nathan just keeps on truckin'. :)
His first day in a wheelchair (day before yesterday) he only lasted 25 minutes before he got dizzy. But yesterday he spent two hours in the wheelchair. In fact, Hannah and I took him outside and wheeled him around the hospital campus for a brisk half-hour. It was a sunny day, but there is still some snow on the ground, and he enjoyed the change of scenery.
We got word today that Nathan's been accepted to a rehab program. (An answer to prayer; see my last blog post.) He'll transfer from the hospital to the rehab center on December 11. (Another answer to prayer.) So he and I continue to hope that he can go back to school in January.
He today saw two opthalmologists to troubleshoot some vision problems. They think his brain's OK, and that his vision will improve with time. So it's a race against the clock (well, a race against the calendar) to get back in the game. :)
I'm reminded of a passage my parents taught us around the dinner table 40 years ago (yep, 40 years ago!): "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and don't forget to thank Him for what He has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

Kuya Greg,
Wonderful, wonderful news! All praise to our Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ and our wonderful counselor, the Holy Spirit.
Blessings,
Jaime
I am amazed at the progress Nathan has made recently - and yet, why should I be when that's what we've all been praying for! I'm sure there are hard days yet to come, though. We'll keep praying. Thanks for keeping us informed and for giving all the glory to the Lord!
Nathan and family,
As a teacher, mother of a UP student, and believer, PRAYER is always the answer whether we pray in hope or thanksgiving. There are many people here that you may never meet that pray for you every day and we continue to pray for Nathan and all those there assisting him.
What a fabulous gift for Nathan to be able to breathe the fresh and crisp air of Salzburg and to know the next step.
Thank you for keeping us updated.

Each day, the Lord unveils our eyes with more of His goodness, grace and mercy.
Reminding ourselves of His promise...
The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17)
Our God alone is all wise and true. Through this journey, He displays His mighty works before us and we rejoice over Him with songs of deliverance. Great is His faithfulness! Love, Samson & Lily
My initial response while reading the lines is to thank God!!!
Praise the Lord!!!
Hi, Haskell Family,
I'm so happy for you all. And happy to be reminded of just how relevant and reassuring scripture is in our times of need. I think of you often and pray for you when I do. It would be so sweet for Nathan to be able to pick up right where he left off and go on with school after this trip to the edge of the cliff and back. I pray that he never forgets what happened there!
Love, Mary Cranston
Tom and I will continue to pray for
you guys. Tom had broken his arm this last summer (just before his cancer scare) and it took longer to heal than the doctor expected - but it did eventually heal on its own. This we will pray for Nathan too. We leave for India in a few days but will watch your blog from there.
In His Name, Barbie
